Jason Gibbs is entering his second season at Arkansas State in 2025 as an assistant coach. He joined the Red Wolves after serving as an assistant coach for the Lewis University men’s volleyball program during the 2023 season.

At Arkansas State, Gibbs focuses on passers and floor defenders, bringing a strong defensive background to match the team’s recent upward trajectory. In 2024, the Red Wolves clinched the Sun Belt Conference regular-season championship—their first title since 2016.

A native of Houston, Texas, Gibbs had an accomplished five-year playing career at Lewis (2019–23), appearing in 81 matches. He helped lead the Flyers to two NCAA Final Fours, two MIVA regular-season titles, and two MIVA Tournament championships. He was also elected team captain and received the 2023 Billy Sahagian Most Inspirational Award.

As a libero, Gibbs notched 403 career digs, earned three MIVA Defensive Player of the Week honors, and contributed as an outside hitter—most notably recording 10 kills, 9 digs, and 2 blocks (hitting .400) in a sweep win over then-No. 2 UCLA.

In addition to his collegiate accomplishments, Gibbs spent five years coaching at Houston Volleyball Academy, working with age groups 14s–18s and helping teams medal at both USAV and AAU National Championships. He also coached in HVA’s beach program, guiding pairs to medals at the USAV Beach Junior National Championships.

Internationally, Gibbs represented the USA Beach U17 and U19 National Teams, earning gold medals at the U17 and U19 USAV Beach High Performance Championships and competing at the 2018 U19 FIVB Beach World Championships in Nanjing, China.

Gibbs earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from Lewis University.
