Brodrick Johnson enters his seventh year as Academic Coordinator for the Arkansas State University Athletics Department. He is primarily responsible, but not limited to, providing overall academic support services for the Arkansas State University student-athletes. Johnson evaluates, tracks and enforces bylaws to ensure the eligibility of student-athletes. Johnson specifically works with Football. He works daily with evaluations, tracking, APR and GSR. During his time as Academic Coordinator, the team has won 4 of the last 6 Sun Belt Conference Team GPA Awards and continued to have student-athletes succeed in the classroom and life.

Before his current role, Johnson was the Arkansas State's Director of Men's Basketball Operations. He initially served in a student manager capacity before being elevated to a graduate assistant position at A-State.

"I'm thrilled Brodrick will continue playing a key role for the ASU men's basketball program," said Brady. "He's an extremely high character individual, who we've treated like a full-time assistant coach due to his exemplary dedication and dependability.

"Brodrick has been extremely helpful in us building important relationships in the community and we will continue to utilize his contacts in promoting our team within those local communities," added Brady.

In that current position, Johnson was responsible for team travel along with coordinating all of A-State's 6th Man Club and top 200 events.  He served as the A-State men's basketball program's coordinator of volunteer opportunities while overseeing all of the team's student managers and graduate assistants. 

Prior to his appointment, Johnson spent the 2011-12 season as a graduate assistant on the Red Wolves' coaching staff under Brady.  A native of Jonesboro, Ark., Johnson served four seasons (2007-11) as a student manager for A-State coaches Dickey Nutt (2007-08) and John Brady (2008-11). 

In May 2011, Johnson graduated from A-State with a bachelor's degree in sport management, Johnson also earned a master's degree in sport administration from Arkansas State in August 2012.

Johnson, who graduated in 2007 from Jonesboro High School, served as a manager for both of the school's basketball and football teams.  He was a part of the JHS basketball team which claimed the 6A State Basketball Championship title.  In 2006, Johnson was featured on the front cover of the Jonesboro Sun for his work not only with the basketball team but with the entire JHS Athletics program.  He was also an active member in the school's choir, student council, and served on various student committees. 

Johnson is the son of Frederick and Salenia Love of Jonesboro.
