DENTON, Texas (10/19/08) ? The Arkansas State women's soccer (4-10-1, 1-6-1 SBC) team held off North Texas (12-2-1, 6-1-1 SBC) for nearly 80 minutes before the Mean Green could capitalize on two goals to hand the Red Wolves a 2-0 Sun Belt Conference defeat.
“I am very proud of our girls they played extremely hard for 80 minutes and they showed that we can play with anyone in this conference, we just have to learn to play for the entire game,” said ASU head coach
Derek Pittman.
Kelsey Perlman scored the first goal of the match in the 80th minute (79:50) when she beat a defender and got behind ASU goalkeeper
Megan Stoltzfus scoring on the open net, giving North Texas the 1-0 lead.

“This is always going to be a tough road trip but our kids can walk away from it knowing they gave everything they had. We just have to do better in the final third and create more goal-scoring opportunities,” commented Pittman.
