Megan Stoltzfus lead the squad with three assists each. Stoltzfus has played 11 games in goal for the Red Wolves, making 41 saves with a 3-4-1 worksheet. She owns a 1.77 goals against average. Florida Atlantic stands at 5-8-1 overall with a 3-3-1 conference mark which currently ranks them fifth in the league with a four-game unbeaten streak. Ashley Mannarino and Laura Hyvomen lead the Owls with four goals each. Jessica Badders has played all 14 games in goal for FAU owning three shutouts and making 49 saves. She has allowed 21 goals for a 1.47 goals against average. Florida International is currently 3-10-2 overall on the season with a 3-3-2, sixth place, record in Sun Belt action. FIU is currently on a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1). Claudia Cardenas leads the Golden Panthers with four goals and an assist. Melanie Raimo has played all 15 games in goal for FIU with two shutouts. She has made 75 saves and allowed 27 goals for a 1.74 goals against average.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: Although ASU stands at 4-10-1, three of its four total wins have come in the friendly confines of the ASU Soccer Complex. In conference action, the Red Wolves are 1-2-1 in Jonesboro.
SCORING DROUGHT: Over the course of the last three games the Red Wolves have been on a bit of a scoring drought with opponents outscoring the Red Wolves, 6-0. On the season, ASU has been outscored by opponents 33-25.
THE SERIES VERSUS FLORIDA ATLANTIC: The Red Wolves have played FAU twice in program history. They have lost to the Owls on both occasions, most recently in 2007, o-5, in Boca Raton, Fla.
THE SERIES VERUS FIU: ASU holds a 1-5-2 record against the Golden Panthers in their series dating back to 2000. The Red Wolves dropped their last meeting aginst FIU in 2007, 2-3, in Miami, Fla.
CLARK LEADS THE WAY: ASU freshman
Michele Clark has stepped up big to lead the Red Wolves in scoring over the course of the last several games, netting two goals and an assist. Clark scored both goals against MTSU to lift the Red Wolves to victory.
ASU WINS FIRST CONFERENCE MATCH SINCE 2006: With the 2-1 win over MTSU last Friday, ASU earned its first conference victory since beating Louisiana-Monroe in 2006. The conference win was also the first for head coach
Derek Pittman. Prior to tying the match against ULM last Sunday, ASU had dropped 22-consecutive conference matches.
ASU SNAPS SEVEN GAME SKID: With a 1-1 tie against Louisiana-Monroe on Oct. 5 the Red Wolves snapped a seven-game losing streak. ASU beat its first three opponents of the season by a combined score of 15-4. Its combined score in the next seven games was 7-21.
YOUTH LEADS THE WAY: ASU's top four scorers are comprised of three freshman and a sophomore. Nitti leads the way with six goals, while Turesson has five goals, which is more goals than any single player scored a year ago. Along with Nitti, freshman Kai Gear and sophomore
Anna Kaloghirou have four goals. Kalghirou is ASU's top returning scorer, netting four goals in 2007. Freshman
Michele Clark has also come on strong in the last few matches scoring two goals.
GOALKEEPER LEADS TEAM IN ASSISTS: Freshman goalkeeper
Megan Stoltzfus, is tied for the lead on the ASU squad with three assists. Freshman
Michele Clark has also netted three assists on the season. The three tallies came during the opening game of the season against UCA when Stoltzfus punted the ball to set up three scoring opportunities. In one game, a goalkeeper almost amassed as many assists as a single field player did on last year's team (4). Stoltzfus is tied for seventh in assists per game in the SBC at 0.60.
SECOND HAT-TRICK IN AS MANY GAMES: Freshman Sophie Turesson recorded three goals for the Red Wolves in their match against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. This marked the second game in a row that an ASU player had notched three goals in a single match. Kai Gear began the year for the Red Wolves by scoring three goals against Central Arkansas on Aug. 23. Her three goals were the most an ASU player had scored in a single match since 2005.
