Megan Stoltzfus has played seven games in goal for the Red Wolves, making 32 saves with a 2-3-1 worksheet. She owns a 1.79 goals against average. MTSU stands at 6-4-2 on the season with a 4-0 SBC record. The Blue Raiders are led by Shan Jones who has eight goals this season, which ranks fifth on the SBC leaderboard. Kela Casiple has allowed only nine goals in 11 appearances in goal for Middle Tennessee and made 56 saves, which is fourth-best in the conference. Defending regular season champion Western Kentucky stands at 8-3-0 with a 2-0-2 SBC ledger. Megan Meinke and Kristi Cocchiarella lead the Hilltoppers with five goals apiece. Libby Stout leads the SBC in goals against average (0.33), save percentage (.922), and shutouts (7). She has played in 11 games for WKU allowing only four goals, while making 47 saves.
ASU SNAPS SEVEN GAME SKID: With a 1-1 tie against Louisiana-Monroe on Oct. 5 the Red Wolves snapped a seven-game losing streak. ASU beat its first three opponents of the season by a combined score of 15-4. Its combined score in the next seven games was 7-21.
THE SERIES VERSUS MTSU: The Red Wolves haven't beaten MTSU in their eight-year history (0-7-1), however they did tie MTSU in Murfreesboro in 2007 (0-0).
THE SERIES VERUS WKU: ASU hasn't been able to figure out the Hilltoppers yet either. They stand at 0-7-0 all-time against WKU
STACKING UP IN SBC STATS: ASU ranks fouth in the Sun Belt in goals per match at 2.09, assists with 20 and points per match at 6.67. They are second in the league in assists per game with 2.09. Freshman forward

KALOGHRIOU DOUBLES OUTPUT IN LAST TWO: Sophomore
Anna Kaloghirou has doubled her season output in goals in the past two games, scoring a goal each against ULL and ULM. Kaloghriou is the top returning scorer from a year ago when she scored four goals as a freshman.
VERSUS LAST SEASON: Although at 3-7-1 so far this season, through 11 games the Red Wolves have already eclipsed several statistical categories from a year ago. They have already scored 23 goals which is six more (17) than the entire output from 2007. On those 23 goals ASU has netted 23 assists which is eight more than a year ago (15) for 69 total points which dwarfs 2007's output of 49. The Red Wolves have posted one shutout, which is half as many as they did in 2007 (2). ASU is averaging 13.9 shots per game which is much improved from 9.3 last season. The Red Wolves are holding opponents to 13.5 shots per game which is lower than the 16.6 they allowed in 2007. Two ASU players (Nitti, Turesson) have scored five or more goals, which surpasses the leading scorer from last season (4 goals).
YOUTH LEADS THE WAY: ASU's top four scorers are comprised of three freshman and a sophomore. Nitti leads the way with six goals, while Turesson has five goals, which is more goals than any single player scored a year ago. Along with Nitti, freshman Kai Gear and sophomore
Anna Kaloghirou have four goals. Kalghirou is ASU's top returning scorer, netting four goals in 2007.
GOALKEEPER LEADS TEAM IN ASSISTS: Freshman goalkeeper
Megan Stoltzfus, is tied for the lead on the ASU squad with three assists. Freshman
Michele Clark has also netted three assists on the season. The three tallies came during the opening game of the season against UCA when Stoltzfus punted the ball to set up three scoring opportunities. In one game, a goalkeeper almost amassed as many assists as a single field player did on last year's team (4). Stoltzfus is tied for seventh in assists per game in the SBC at 0.60.
SECOND HAT-TRICK IN AS MANY GAMES: Freshman Sophie Turesson recorded three goals for the Red Wolves in their match against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. This marked the second game in a row that an ASU player had notched three goals in a single match. Kai Gear began the year for the Red Wolves by scoring three goals against Central Arkansas on Aug. 23. Her three goals were the most an ASU player had scored in a single match since 2005.
NEW ERA AT ASU: Arkansas State currently stands at 21-13-1 while competing as the Red Wolves this season. After 77 years of competition as the Indians, the Red Wolves mascot was adopted in January 2008 after many hours of work by the University's Mascot Selection Steering Committee. The job of the committee was to make a new mascot recommendation to Chancellor Dr. Robert L. Potts and the University administration. The committee recommended “Wolves” at a Jan. 31 m???????eeting, and the Red Wolves mascot evolved from that point.
LAST MATCH: Sophomore forward Anna Kaloghriou scored the tying goal off a corner from freshman
Michele Clark in the 85th minute (84:23) to force an overtime tie, 1-1, with Louisiana-Monroe in Sun Belt Conference action Sunday at the ASU Soccer Complex.
The tie snapped a seven game losing streak for the Red Wolves.
Warhawks player Raydan Phillips put the Red Wolves down early in the match when she scored on a shot from 20 yards out to the right side of the goal in the third minute (2:13).
The remainder of the match ASU dominated most of the action taking 17 shots to ULM's six, including nine shots in the second half.
Clark took a career-high five shots to lead all players in the match. Kaloghriou added four shots for the Red Wolves.
The match was very physical with 32 fouls committed between the two squads.
