JONESBORO,
Ark. (1/3/09) ? The ASU baseball staff has announced two camps for the winter season.
It will be the last chance for youth players to be able to work with the ASU
baseball program to sharpen their skills before the ASU baseball season
commences.
The Youth
Hitting and Youth Defensive camps will be held Jan. 10th The hitting session
will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at noon, while the defensive session begins at
1 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. The camps are designed for players in first
through seventh grades. Each camp is $50 or players can opt for both camps at a
cost of $90.
The Tommy
Raffo Winter Youth Camps are designed to provide players with instruction from
the Arkansas State coaching staff and current players. Both camps focus on
fundamentals skills through drill instruction and game participation.
ASU will also
hold a Prospect Showcase Camp on Jan. 17th. The Tommy Raffo
Winter Prospect Showcase Camp is designed to provide players with instruction
from the Arkansas State coaching staff and current players. Players will also
have an opportunity to be evaluated in a professional scouting format and one
scrimmage game by the ASU coaching staff, and learn about the collegiate
recruiting process.
The Prospect
Showcase Camp is designed for players in eighth grade to 12th grade.
Cost for the camp is $100 and the camp is a full day beginning at 8:30 a.m. on
Jan. 17th and running until 4 p.m. Lunch is included in the camp.
