LEADING OFF: The Arkansas State baseball team will begin an eight-game home stand Tuesday, April 29 against Murray State at Tomlinson Stadium. 
The Red Wolves are coming a Sun Belt Conference weekend series in which they lost two of three games and are looking to get back on track against Thoroughbreds, whom they beat 27-7 earlier this season. 
In the first matchup, A-State set and tied numerous school records and sophomore captain Austin Baker set school records in runs scored and total bases. The Red Wolves have six straight games in the series.
Adam Grantham will get the call for A-State in his fourth start of the year, while Andrew Bramley wills start for Murray State. 
The game can be heard on 95.3FM The Ticket/970AM KNEA and in the StateZone.
 
A-STATE/MSU SERIES HISTORY
• A-State holds leads the all-time series 47-51-1 over Murray State.
• A-State has won six straight games in the series, which dates back to the 1948 season.
• The teams have played at least one game in the series every year since 1989. 
• The Red Wolves defeated Murray State 27-7 earlier this season. The 27 runs missed the school record for most runs in a game by 1 run.
Austin Baker set two school records (runs scored with 7 and total bases with 14) and tied the school record for home runs in a game with 3.
Lucas Feddersen tied the school record for most at-bats in a game with eight. 
Tyler Hardie tied the school record for most walks with four.
 
SCORING WHEN THE PRESSURE IS ON
• Of the 16 runs that Arkansas State in the series at Georgia State (April 25-27), 10 of them came with two outs.
• In Saturday's 7-6 loss, all six of A-State's runs were scored with two outs. 
 
SUNDAY FUNDAY
•  A-State has a 9-1 record on Sunday's this season. 
• It's only loss was a 5-4 loss to Creighton on March 9 in the second game of a three-game series.
 
OWNING THE LAST GAME
• A-State has played 11 weekend series this season and has won the final game in each of those series. 
• Nine of those victories have come on Sunday, with one on Saturday (UALR series) and the other was on a Monday (Creighton). 
 
ZUBER GETS FIRST CAREER SAVE
• Freshman pitcher Tyler Zuber picked up his first career save in the Red Wolves' 10-6 victory over Georgia State on April 27.
• He came in with the bases loaded with 2 outs in the bottom of the eighth and struck out SBC  home run leader Nic Wilson to get out of the inning and then worked an un-eventful ninth for the save. 
 
HAWKINS DOMINATES BEARS
• Junior LHP Chandler Hawkins had a career night at Central Arkansas on April 22.
• In his first midweek start of the year, Hawkins fanned a career-high 10 in five innings of work.
• Hawkins retired eight in a row at one point and struck out five out looking on the night.
• He is the second A-State pitcher to reach double-digit strikeouts in a game this season (David Owen has struck out 10 twice.)
 
A-STATE PITCHING STAFF FANS SEASON-HIGH
• The Arkansas State pitching staff struck out a season-high 10 batters against Central Arkansas on April 22.
 
SWEEPS WEEK
• A-State swept its third weekend opponent of the 2014 season with three victories over Louisiana-Monroe April 18-20. 
• The Warhawks are also the second SBC opponent that the Red Wolves have swept this season (UALR was the first during the opening weekend of the conference).
• The Red Wolves also completed a midweek season sweep of Memphis earlier in the week, marking the first-time since 2009 that A-State had defeated the Tigers twice in one season.
 
FIELDER'S CHOICE WALK-OFF
• A-State completed a comeback from five runs down against ULM on April 20 in the most unusual way with a fielder's choice walk-off.
• The Red Wolves won the game by scoring four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, 
included the game winning run on a fielder's choice by Ty Michelotti. The freshman hit a slow ground ball to second and the throw came home and but was too late as Zach Maggio scored the winning run.
 
WOODHOUSE GETS THE SAVE
• Senior Cody Woodhouse did something he had never done in his four years on the A-State pitching staff, record a save. 
• Woodhouse tossed the final three innings in the Red Wolves 11-7 victory over ULM on April 19 for the first save of career.
