MOBILE, Ala. (10/25/15) – The Arkansas State women's soccer team concluded the 2015 season with a 4-1 loss to South Alabama Sunday afternoon at The Cage.

Arkansas State finished the year with an overall record of 3-14-1 and Sun Belt Conference record of 1-7-1, while South Alabama improved to 15-2-1 and a league record of 9-0 and will enter next week's SBC Tournament as the top seed.

South Alabama scored first with an early goal in the 14th minute, but A-State responded in the 41st minute when senior Jordan Adams headed in a ball off of a corner kick by Tayler Carter to even the score at 1-1.

The Jaguars wasted little time in responding, however, and took the lead back in the 43rd minute when Danielle Henley collected a through ball from Charde Hannah and beat A-State goalkeeper Kelsey Ponder in a one-on-one situation to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

The Jaguars scored their third goal of the game in the 50th minute when Steffi Hardy connected on a shot from six-yards out that was just out of the reach of Ponder. Hardy also scored the game's first goal in the 14th minute.

Hardy completed the hat trick by adding a goal in the 86th minute to push the South Alabama lead to 4-1.

South Alabama outshot A-State 21-8 and held a 15-6 advantage in shots on goal. Ponder stopped a career-high 11 shots in goal for the Red Wolves.

Carter finished led A-State with three shots, including two on target, while Adams concluded her A-State career with two shots on goal. Jayme Luke and Katey Carmicahel also had shots on goal on the afternoon.
