JONESBORO, Ark. (10/19/16) – Arkansas State head women's bowling coach Justin Kostick announced the addition of Tanner Seal to the Red Wolves' coaching staff for the upcoming 2016-17 season Wednesday afternoon.
Seal recently began his post as an assistant coach recently and is helping the Red Wolves prepare for their season-opening tournament, the Wildcat Invitational, set for Oct. 21-23 in Orlando, Fla. He most recently helped out as a volunteer coach at the University of Pikeville in Pikeville, Ky.
“I'm very happy to add a local guy like Tanner to the staff,” Kostick said. “He was a successful player at the collegiate level and also has some coaching experience so that's a big plus to me. I'm excited to work with him and can't wait to start the season.”
A native of Jonesboro, Ark., Seal bowled collegiately at Pikeville for two seasons. The Bears won the Mid-South Conference championship during both of his seasons there and he was First-Team All-Conference for the 2014-15 season. During his time at Pikeville, he was named to three all-tournament squads.
“I am excited to begin this new chapter of my bowling experience with the women's bowling team here at Arkansas State,” said Seal. “Going from player to coach is going to make the sport that much more enjoyable.”
Seal went to Jonesboro High School and played football and soccer for the Hurricane. He majored in criminology while at the University of Pikeville.
