STORYLINES

• The Red Wolves begin a grueling five game road trip with a trip to Phoenix to face Grand Canyon Friday night on ESPN3. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. (CT). The game will air in Jonesboro on 107.9 KFIN and across the EAB Red Wolves Sports Network.

• A-State improved to 48-10 all-time in home openers dating back to the 1961-62 season (Home/Away not available prior to 1961) with Monday's win over Missouri Baptist
• The Red Wolves play six of their first seven games on the road and will log over 7,000 miles before playing at home for a second time this season
• Friday's game marks the first time A-State has played in the state of Arizona
• The Red Wolves will have played in 38 states following Friday's contest
• Ty Cockfield II scored 20 or more points in the season opener for the second consecutive season, the 17th such 20-point performance by an A-State player over the last 40 seasons
• J.J. Matthews was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field at Abilene Christian becoming the fourth player in program history to be perfect from the floor with seven or more attempts
