San Marcos, Tx. (4/20/19)– The Arkansas State baseball team sent Saturday's series finale into extra innings but fell 7-6 after a walk-off home run in the 10thinning. Following the loss, the Red Wolves fell to 22-19 overall and 8-10 in the Sun Belt while the Bobcats improved to 27-13 overall and 12-6 in the league. 

The Scarlet and Black took a 6-4 advantage over Texas State in the 10thinning after Tyler Duncan sliced a two-run single through right center scoring Justin Felix and Kyle MacDonald. However, the Bobcats responded in the home half when Ryan Newman launched a walk off three-run home run to right field

Nate Alberius pitched seven innings, where he allowed three runs on seven hits with two walks and six punchouts. Jack Jumper seen action out of the bullpen, pitching 2.1 innings only allowing a hit, a walk and a strikeout. 

The Scarlet and Black evened things up at four runs apiece, in the eighth, when Justin Felix slashed an RBI single up the middle scoring Drew Tipton

The Red Wolves rallied in the second, when Tyler Duncan hit a two-run bomb to right center, his second of the season. Duncan finished the day two-for-five with four RBIs, a home run and a run while Kyle MacDonald finished three-for-five with a double and a run.

Texas State took an early 2-0 advantage in the first, when Travon Benton slashed a two-run single through right field. The Bobcats added another run in the third, to even the match at three runs apiece. 

Arkansas State will return to action when it travels to Southern Illinois for a midweek matchup. The first pitch is set for 5 p.m. in Carbondale, Ill. This will be the second meeting of the season for the squads. A-State dropped the first contest 4-3, at Tomlinson Stadium on April 2.
