NOTABLES
  • Arkansas State has met ULM 48 times entering the week, dating back to 1980. A-State owns a dominant 43-5 advantage in the series and has won 36 straight. At home versus the Warhawks, the Red Wolves are 19-1.
  • Kendahl Davenport is the reigning Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week after earning 13 blocks (1.63/set) versus Little Rock. Her 1.63 blocks per set leads the conference and is No. 2 in the NCAA as of Oct. 4. The Conway, Arkansas, native was the first weekly honoree for A-State since Carlisa May (Oct. 15, 2018) and the first DPOW since Tatum Ticknor in August 2018.
  • Josie Stanford's 28 kills on 10/3 vs. Little Rock was the most in a match by a Sun Belt Conference player this season and the highest total for an A-State player since 2018 (Carlisa May, 29). It also is tied for the most by a player in a match in the NCAA and is the most for a four-set match this season (as of Oct. 4).
  • This season through two matches, A-State leads the Sun Belt Conference in blocks per set (2.50). The Red Wolves have recorded 10.0 blocks in both matches. In 2019, A-State reached 10 or more blocks eight times in 29 matches.
  • A-State is 39-1 since the 2017 season when taking the first two sets.
  • A-State is four wins away from its 300th home victory.
  • Last weekend, A-State split its season-opening weekend versus Little Rock, dropping a 3-1 decision Friday night before taking a 3-1 win on Saturday. In Friday's match, the Red Wolves battled back to even the match at a set apiece after Little Rock took a 25-22 first set. A-State made quick work in the second, winning 25-12 before the Trojans won 28-26 and 25-20 to win. Madison Brown led A-State with 14 kills and a .314 attack percentage while Julianna Cramer handed out 29 assists. The Red Wolves also recorded 10.0 blocks as a squad.
On Saturday, the match started just as Friday's did, with Little Rock opening with a 25-23 first-set decision. The Red Wolves, however, kept momentum from the second set on to win the next three and claim the match. The highlight of the contest was Josie Stanford's 28 kills, playing just three rotations. A-State also recorded 10.0 blocks again as a team.
