RUSTON, La. (2/23/20) – Coming off a 4-3 victory against Louisiana Tech, the Arkansas State women's tennis team continued play in Ruston, La., with a 4-0 defeat of Incarnate Word Sunday morning.
A-State improves to 2-3 on the spring season with the win ahead of the conference opener in March. The Red Wolves won the doubles point by way of default on court No. 3 and Pornpawee Pramethong and Berta Masdevall-Masip earned a 6-1 decision on court No. 1. Shelby King and Jill Morse were leading their doubles match 3-2 when the doubles point was won.
In singles play, Allison Quammen won by default on court No. 6 to make the score 2-0. Pramethong won in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) on court No. 1 and Morse won her duel 6-0, 6-4 to clinch the match. King was leading 7-5, 5-1 on court No. 2 while Masdevall-Masip was leading 6-2, 4-2 when the match concluded. Guevremont won her first set 6-3 before trailing 4-3 in the second set 4-3 at match conclusion.
A-State opens Sun Belt Conference play on March 13 at Appalachian State. Â
