OPELIKA, Ala. (3/10/20) – The Arkansas State men's golf team finished out the Tiger Invitational with third-round 287, their lowest round of the tournament, but finished 12th among 20 teams playing at the Grand National Lake Course.
A-State improved from a first round 292 (+4) and a second round 302 (+14) to post a 1-under 287 in the third round for a total of 881 (+17) to tie for 12th with Chattanooga. No. 15 Auburn won the tournament with a total of 854 (-10).
Senior Julien Sale posted the low round of the tournament for the Red Wolves on Tuesday, posting a final round 68 (-4) to climb 14 spots to a tie for eighth. With the final round 68, Sale secured his fourth top-10 finish this season with a total of 214 (-2) on the week. Senior Zan Luka Stirn and junior Michael Weppernig tied for 42nd with a total of 222 (+6) while sophomore Jack Madden finished tied for 49th at 223 (+7). Freshman Adam Thorp tied for 83rd with a total of 231 (+15).
The Red Wolves return to action March 20-22 at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate in Chapel Hill, N.C.
