Emma Riales netted her first career goal, the eventual game-winner, as the Arkansas State women's soccer team won its fifth-straight match with a 3-1 victory at Texas State Friday evening.
The win improves A-State to 6-3-1 overall and 3-0-0 in Sun Belt Conference play while the Texas State falls to 5-5-1 and 2-3-0 in league play. The Red Wolves are now 11-0-1 in the last 12 regular season conference matches, outscoring their opponents 26-5.
Texas State opened the scoring at 24:41 with a goal by Kiara Gonzales, but the Red Wolves answered quickly. Senior
Sarah Sodoma served a corner kick and a
Abigail Miller header got past the Bobcats keeper for the equalizer at 31:23. For Miller, she registered her second goal of the season and third of her career. Sodoma was credited with her 16th career assist, second this season.
Coming out of the halftime break, the Red Wolves took the lead at 54:01 on the first career goal by true-freshman

Hailey Cloud was credited with her third career assist, second this season, while Riales became the third true-freshman this year to find the back of the net.
True-freshman
Aliyah Williamson gave A-State a 3-1 advantage at 69:49, her third-consecutive match with a goal and fourth over the last five contests. Sodoma was credited with her second assist of the game, her second career match with two assists with the last coming at ULM on Sept. 20, 2020.
The Red Wolves finished with a 20-16 shots advantage, but each team finished with three shots on goal. Senior
Megan McClure made two saves between the posts for A-State and earned her 29th career win.
