STATESBORO, Ga. (10/10/21) – Closing out play at the Georgia Southern Fall Shootout, the Arkansas State women's tennis squad won five singles matches and three doubles matches to finish the event with eight doubles wins and eight singles victories.
Hunter Roper earned a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Coco Bosman of Chattanooga and
Thea Rice battled to a 1-6, 7-5, 10-7 triumph over Emma Heiderscheit of Davidson.
Nejla Zukic made it three singles victories on the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Sean Lodzki of North Florida.
Emily Surcey added a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Christina Watson of Emory University and
Yasmine Humbert won 6-2, 6-3 over Lauren Yoon of Emory University.
In doubles action, Roper and Surcey earned a 7-6 (6) victory in the first match of the day and followed with a 6-3 win in their second contest. Brody and Humbert added a 6-3 win to close out the victories for the Red Wolves in doubles play.
A-State is next scheduled to compete in ITA Regionals in Iowa City, Iowa, Oct. 21-24.
