IOWA CITY, Iowa. (10/21/21) – Beginning play Thursday at ITA Regionals,
Emily Surcey secured two of three singles wins by the Arkansas State women's tennis team.

Surcey opened with a 2-6, 7-5, 11-9 victory over Lucy Lu of Minnesota and followed with a straight-sets win over Brooke Covington of Omaha, 6-3, 6-3.
Thea Rice won her opener over Kate Miley of Missouri State 2-6, 6-3, 10-5, but lost in the round of 64 to Habiba Aly of South Dakota 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Nejla Zukic dropped a hard-fought match to Malvika Shukla of Creighton 3-6, 6-3, 10-2 in her first-round matchup.

In doubles play, Rice and Zukic were edged 6-7 (4) against a pair from Kansas.
Hunter Roper and Surcey came up short, 4-6, against a duo from Nebraska.
