BATON ROUGE, La. (2/25/21) – A 14-team field featuring seven teams ranked inside the top-25 of the Golfweek collegiate rankings awaits the Arkansas State men's golf team with the first of four spring tournaments beginning Friday at University Club.
Ranked 24th in the Golfweek rankings released Wednesday, A-State is set for the first team event of the spring this weekend. A-State played in the Individual Spring Kickoff back on Feb. 8, but no team scoring was kept in that event. The Red Wolves played two fall events, winning the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate and finishing second at the Little Rock Invitational.
The LSU Invitational is a three-day event with 18 holes played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the par-72, 7,227-yard University Club. Ranked fifth according to Golfweek, Illinois is the top-ranked team in the field followed by No. 10 Georgia, No. 14 Tennessee, No. 20 Auburn, No. 23 Florida and No. 25 Alabama. Host LSU is ranked No. 33 this week and South Carolina (42), Ole Miss (46), Mississippi State (53), Kentucky (55), Missouri (66) and Louisiana Tech (101) round out the field.
Live scoring for the event is available on GolfStat.com. Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. each day. The Red Wolves are scheduled to tee off beginning at 9:20 a.m. from the first tee.
