Red Wolves Pick Up Seven Top-50 Wins in Fourth Place Finish at LSU Invitational

BATON ROUGE, La. (2/28/21) – Competing in a field with nine other top-50 ranked teams, the Arkansas State men's golf team finished fourth among the 15 total teams at the LSU Invitational played at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La.
 
Ranked No. 42 in the latest Golfstat rankings, A-State posted a final round 300 (+12) to finish at 23-over par (295-292-300—887) for the weekend. No. 6 Illinois won the event at 876 (+12) while No. 19 Vanderbilt was second at 878 (+14). South Carolina was six strokes better than A-State for third. The Red Wolves picked up wins over No. 11 Florida, No. 12 Georgia, No. 17 Auburn, No. 22 Tennessee, No. 28 Alabama, No. 29 LSU and No. 49 Ole Miss. According to Golfweek Collegiate rankings, A-State picked up wins over No. 10 Georgia, No. 14 Tennessee, No. 20 Auburn, No. 23 Florida, No. 25 Alabama, No. 33 LSU and No. 46 Ole Miss.
 
Luka Naglic carded a final round 1-over par 73 to join teammate Julien Sale at tied for seventh individually at 219 (+3) among the 90 players. Zan Luka Stirn was 6-over par (78) in the final round to tie for 43rd and Adam Thorp was 3-over (75) to finish tied for 55th. Jack Madden finished at 8-over par (80) to place tied for 61st overall while playing as an individual, Michael Weppernig finished tied for 58th with a total of 229 (+13).
