ARLINGTON, Texas (3/20/21) – Playing in their first Sun Belt Conference road contest of the season, the Arkansas State women's tennis was swept at UT Arlington Saturday.

UT Arlington (11-1, 4-0 SBC) took an early lead on A-State (3-4, 1-2 SBC) winning the doubles point with wins on No. 2 and No. 3 courts.
Shelby King and
Jill Morse were defeated 6-2 while
Nejla Zukic and
Yasmine Humbert came up short 6-4.
Thea Rice and
Hunter Roper trailed 5-4 on court one when the Mavericks clinched the doubles point.

Polina Akimova topped Morse 6-0, 6-0 to give UTA the 2-0 advantage and Bruna Casasampere made it 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 decision over Humbert. Momoka Horiguchi picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Rice to make the score 4-0 and clinch the match. Singles play was played out and Roper was dealt a 6-0, 6-3 setback to Liz Chileno, King was downs 6-1, 6-4 to Carla Pons and Zukic fell 6-2, 6-1 to Almundena Boza.
