CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (3/28/21) – Julien Sale remains second individually and the Arkansas State men's golf team is tied for fourth among 14 teams following the second round of the Tar Heel Intercollegiate at UNC Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, N.C.
 
The Red Wolves, ranked 30th in the latest GolfStat rankings, totaled a 2-over par 290 in the second round to stand tied for fourth heading into the final round Monday. No. 17 North Carolina maintains the lead at 15-under par 561 while Michigan State is second (-3) and Campbell (-1) is third. A-State is tied with Maryland for fourth with 44th-ranked UNC-Wilmington (+8) sixth.
 
Sale, coming off a 6-under par 66 in the first round, was 4-under in his first four holes Sunday, but finished the round at even-par 72 to stand tied for second and three strokes behind leader Peter Fountain (-9) entering the final round. Zan Luka Stirn was also even-par on the round and is tied for 15th overall while Jack Madden is tied for 27th after a second round 73 (+1). An even-par round saw Adam Thorp climb 18 spots to a tie for 34th while Luka Naglic is also tied for 34th with a total of 148 (+4). Michael Weppernig rounds out the Red Wolves in the individual standings in a tie for 64th at 8-over par 152.
