DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (4/20/21) – After a lightning delay this morning and rain throughout much of championship, the course at LPGA International was deemed unplayable canceling the final round of the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship.  The Arkansas State women's golf team finished sixth among the 11 teams in the weather-shortened championship.

Several groups were able to tee off in the final round, but inclement weather stopped play until 11:45 a.m. (CT). After a brief return to play, weather again stopped play and the decision was made to cancel the final round.

A-State finished play in sixth with a 36-hole total of 599, one stroke behind fifth-place Troy and two strokes shy of fourth-place South Alabama. Coastal Carolina won the tournament with a total of 562 behind a second-round 278 (-10). Individually,
Elise Schultz is the top finisher for the Red Wolves at 147 (+3) with
Olivia Schmidt (T17) also finishing in the top-20.

The Red Wolves close the season with a stroke average of 298.17, the second-lowest scoring average in program history. This marks the seventh-straight season with a top-seven scoring average for head coach M.J. Desbiens-Shaw's program. Individually,
Olivia Schmidt finishes the year with a scoring average of 73.48 topping the record set by
Grayson Gladden last season of 73.52. This season, Gladden posted an average of 74.39 to rank fourth in the single-season ranks while
Elise Schultz average of 74.55 ranks fifth.
