EL DORADO, Ark. (4/25/21) – Turning in a first round total of 304, the Arkansas State men's golf team stands fourth among 12 teams following the first round of the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado.
With the course playing an average of plus-18.75 on the round, A-State totaled 302 and has a three-stroke advantage on fifth place Appalachian State and UT Arlington. Georgia Southern totaled a 5-over par 293 in the first round and leads ULM by two strokes while Little Rock is third at 10-over par 298.
Zan Luka Stirn led A-State in the first round with a 2-over par 74 on the par-72, 7,293-yard course. Stirn, who is tied for ninth, is among three Red Wolves in the top-15.
Luka Naglic and
Adam Thorp are tied for 13th after turning in a 3-over par round of 75.
Julien Sale had a team-high 15 pars, but two bogeys and a quadruple-bogey resulted in a 6-over par 78 to rank him tied for 32nd.
Jack Madden rounds out the Red Wolves in the field with an 8-over par 80 to tie for 40th.
