JONESBORO, Ark. (5/19/21) – Finishing the season with a 73.48 scoring average, Arkansas State women's golf standout Olivia Schmidt was named Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference, the league announced Wednesday.
 
"We are so thrilled that Olivia was recognized for this deserving honor," said A-State head coach M.J. Desbiens Shaw. "Olivia works so hard every day to be the best player she can be. Her dedication to the game and her teammates are one of a true role model."
 
With the 73.48 scoring average, Schmidt established the program record topping the previous record set by teammate Grayson Gladden during the shortened 2019-20 season of 73.52. On the season, Schmidt posted five rounds of par or better, including a program record low round of 65 in the final round of the USA Intercollegiate. She finished in the top-25 of six of event tournaments, including three top-five finishes.
 
Schmidt is the first All-Conference selection for A-State women's golf since Beth Ann Compton following the 2016-17 season. She becomes the 32nd All-Conference pick in program history.
