"I am thrilled to have Josh join our Red Wolf family," Shaw said. "Josh brings a lot of teaching experience and I know our players will benefit right away. I look forward to a great year and a lot of success with him as an assistant coach of our program."

Gorzney comes to Arkansas State following a two-year stint as head boy's golf coach at Norman (Okla.) North High School. This past spring, Gorzney guided Norman North to the state tournament and a second-place regional finish. He also coached the individual regional champion.

"Getting back to coaching college golf has been a goal of mine for a while now and I'm excited to return under the leadership of Coach Shaw," Gorzney said. "Coach Shaw has great experience that I want to learn from and this program has a great family atmosphere here in Jonesboro. I'm ready to get to work developing these student-athletes on and off the golf course."

Prior to his stint as Norman North, Gorzney was assistant boys golf coach at Edmond North High School for the 2018-19 season. He coached the 6A Oklahoma Golf Individual Champion. He served as volunteer assistant coach at South Mountain Community College for the 2015-16 campaign and helped squad to the 2016 NJCAA Division II National Championship.

Gorzney brings seven years of experience as a golf course professional, most recently as assistant golf professional from 2013-15 at The Territory Golf & Country Club in Duncan, Okla. He spent one year as assistant golf professional at Deerpath Golf Course in Lake Forest, Ill., and three years as pro shop manager and junior camp instructor at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course in Bristol, Ill.

A 2013 graduate of the University of St. Francis, Gorzney was a two-time NAIA National Championship Qualifier in 2011 and 2013. He was a two-time all-conference pick and two-time conference player of the week.
