JONESBORO, Ark. (1/23/24) – Arkansas State women's tennis head coach Sujay Lama announced Tuesday that Slovakia standout Lilly Cvanciger has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Red Wolves beginning in the fall of 2024.

"Lilly is going to be an excellent addition to our team," Lama said. "She fits the profile we are looking for which is outstanding academically, tremendously talented and most importantly high character. Lilly is an aggressive player with a massive serve and volley game. She has great feel at the net and will be a dual threat in singles and doubles right away. We are very excited to have her join our A-State tennis family."

Ranked as high as No. 6 in the U18 Slovakian rankings, Cvanciger was the singles runner-up at the Slovak U18 Winter National Championships last year while advancing to the semifinals in doubles. At the 2023 Slovak U18 Summer National Championship, Cvanciger advanced to the semifinals in doubles and quarterfinals in singles. In the team championship, she earned a runner-up finish. Playing at the ITF J30 Trnava, Cvanciger was part of the doubles championship and runner-up in singles. She added a doubles championship at the ITF J30 Humenne.

"I am so excited and eager to see what we can achieve together and also am resolute to give it my all," said Cvanciger. "That is the reason why I chose A-State, for a resolution to work hard in all aspects on and off the court in such a warm and friendly environment with great coaches and players."

Cvanciger is the fourth addition to the A-State roster since Lama was named head coach in August 2023. Ariadna Fernandez and Anna Grigoreva were added ahead of the spring season and Cvanciger joins the roster in fall of 2024 along with Carla Muro Castellvi.
