BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (11/15/24) – Arkansas State's Jacob Pyeatt secured an automatic bid as an individual qualifier to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Friday morning, placing seventh in the men's 10K race at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships at the Watts Cross Country Course.
Pyeatt ran a career-best 29:24.8 in his seventh-place finish, also earning him All-Region distinction for the third time in his career. His bid to the NCAA Championships makes him the program's first men's runner since 2021 to reach the championships.
A-State's men placed 10th in the team standings, while the women finished 13th.
In the men's 10K behind Pyeatt, Nati Enright was the second Red Wolf to cross, placing 36th with a career-best time of 30:50.8. Freshman Evan Stevens ran 31:20.4 in the first 10K of his collegiate career, placing 58th, while Grayson Young was 72nd with a personal-best time of 31:41.0. Dawson Mayberry was A-State's fifth runner, placing 121st with a time of 32:46.0. Avinash Patel was 127th with a mark of 32:55.8, with Benny Brenneman running a career-best 33:21.9 in a 142nd-place finish.
Maja Dzialoszewska paced the women's squad in the 6K, finishing 37th with a time of 20:37.6. Olivia Walter followed in 46th (20:51.3), ahead of Sammy Mason in 74th (21:19.3). Anna Hunter (128th – 22:16.3) and Lizzee Winkler (143rd – 22:34.4) rounded out the top five, with Madison Haldiman (149th – 22:41.8) and Delaney Mulick (155th – 22:45.8) crossing sixth and seventh for the Scarlet and Black.

Pyeatt's season continues at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, held Saturday, Nov. 23, in Madison, Wisconsin. The meet will be broadcast on ESPNU, with the men's 10K slated for a 10:10 a.m. CT starting gun.
