LYNCHBURG, Va. (11/2/24) – Arkansas State women's tennis picked up four more victories on Saturday at the Liberty Hidden Dual, including three in singles play.

The Red Wolves took on East Carolina in both doubles and singles play on the second day of the three-day event.

Lily Cvanciger and Abigail Thurmer picked up a 6-1 doubles win over ECU's Joan Madi and Isabella Rivera Ortiz. Cvanciger also won a straight-set match over Rivera Ortiz, winning 6-4, 6-4.

Sarah Millard defeated Anne Lou Champion 7-5, 6-3, while Loles Carbo Chova routed Xenia Jeromin 6-0, 6-1. Carbo Chova has won six straight singles matches and is now a team-best 8-2 on the year.

Anna Grigoreva and Millard dropped a 6-4 doubles decision to Ines Bachir and Jeromin, while Carbo Chova and Carla Muro Castellvi fell 6-3 to Anne Lou Champion and Martina Muzzolon.

Also in singles, Grigoreva dropped a hard-fought 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 outcome to Bachir. Muro Castellvi also competed hard in a three-set battle, but ultimately dropped a match to Muzzolon by a score of 6-4, 1-6, 12-10. Thurmer faced Madi on the singles court, falling 6-1, 6-2.

A-State concludes the Liberty Hidden Dual and the 2024 fall slate on Sunday, slated to take the court at 8 a.m. CT.
