MOBILE, Ala. (3/8/24) - The Arkansas State women's tennis team begins its Sun Belt Conference slate Saturday at South Alabama. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts. 

"We start a new season now and the opportunity to play one of top teams in the conference right off the bat is a huge challenge, but also a great opportunity;" said A-State head coach Sujay Lama. "Our doubles play has seen a significant improvement and now the next step is to win the doubles point and put the scoreboard pressure on. That is one of goals this weekend and to play fearless tennis." 

A-State (5-5) begins conference play following a 4-2 setback to Southeast Missouri back on Sunday. The Red Wolves are 4-6 this season securing the doubles point and a perfect 4-0 overall when claiming the doubles point. South Alabama carries a 6-2 record into Saturday's league opener. 

Each of the eight players on the Red Wolves' roster have a .500 or better record in dual season singles play thus far. Anna Grigoreva leads with a 4-1 mark in singles while Ariadna Fernandez is 6-2.
