ARLINGTON, Texas (3/27/26) – The Arkansas State women's tennis team completed a 10-match streak away from home with a 4-0 sweep at UT Arlington Friday afternoon.
A-State (9-7) took an early advantage winning the doubles point with wins on court two and three.
Anna Grigoreva and
Sarah Millard cruised to a 6-0 win on court two while
Helena Bueno and
Hanmare McAslin earned a 6-3 victory on court three.
Lilly Cvanciger and
Carla Muro Castellvi trailed 5-2 on court one when the point was clinched.
"Today we played in really tough conditions but I can't describe how proud I'm of the girls and how they showed up," Cvanciger said. "Today's dominance is a result of our togetherness, relience, and toughness we stepped on the court with. Let's bring this momentum to the home swing now!!"
Millard gave the Red Wolves a 2-0 advantage with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Tasnime Ahamout on court six.
Meghna Arun Kumar followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Natalia Gonzalez on court five to make it 3-0. Cvanciger clinched the match with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Diana Kaibara on court two. Grigoreva led 6-3, 4-5 on court one, McAslin led 7-5, 4-2 on court three and Muro Castellvi led on court four 7-6 (3), 1-2.
A-State returns home for the final four contests of the regular season. The Red Wolves host Troy (April 3), UAB (April 4), South Alabama (April 10) and Texas State (April 12) at the A-State Tennis Complex to complete the regular season.
