AUSTIN, Texas (5/12/24) – Following a practice round Sunday at University of Texas Golf Club, the Arkansas State men’s golf team will tee off in the NCAA Austin Regional Monday beginning at 8:55 a.m. (CT) on the 10th tee.
Making its seventh all-time appearance in the NCAA Championships, A-State is one of 13 teams that will compete in the Austin Regional hosted by the University of Texas. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. (CT) Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, with the low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional advancing to the finals May 24-29 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Including the Red Wolves at No. 90 in the latest rankings, the tournament will feature 12 top 100 programs, including eight in the top 50. No. 5 Tennessee is the top-ranked team in the field joined by No. 8 Arkansas, No. 13 Texas, No. 20 Georgia, No. 29 Wake Forest, No. 32 Notre Dame, No. 41 UNC Greensboro, No. 44 BYU, No. 54 Utah, No. 60 San Jose State, No. 71 Grand Canyon and No. 142 Kansas City.
Champions of the Sun Belt Conference for the second time in program history, A-State finished the year at 90-64-5 with wins at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate and Sun Belt Conference Championship. A-State has played against UNC Greensboro, BYU, Utah and Kansas City this season for a combined record against of 3-2.
