JONESBORO, Ark. (8/22/24) – Arkansas State women's cross country was voted as the overwhelming favorite in the Sun Belt Conference's preseason coaches poll, announced by the league office Thursday.
The Red Wolves garnered 10 of a possible 13 first-place votes to total 162 points atop the preseason rankings.
Last season, A-State won their fifth Sun Belt Conference team title, including their fourth in the last five seasons. Since capturing the 2019 team crown, the Scarlet and Black has finished no worse than second in a women's cross country conference championship.
The Red Wolves begin the 2024 cross country campaign on Saturday, Aug. 31, competing at the City Auto Memphis Twilight Classic at Mike Rose Park in Memphis, Tenn.
