ARLINGTON, Texas (9/17/24) – Ashley Kim tied the program record for low 54-hole total to win individual medalist honors and the Arkansas State women's golf team took the team title by one stroke over Tarleton State in the Maverick Classic at Tierra Verde Golf Club.

Following rounds of 6-under 66 and 2-under 70 on Monday, Kim backed it up with a 4-under par 68 to tie Olivia Schmidt's program record total of 12-under par 204 set in the fall of 2022 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic. Kim finished the event with an eagle, 15 birdies and five bogeys. It is the first career medalist honors for Kim.

Anne-Lea Lavoie and Morgan Beaulieu registered top 10 finishes to help A-State secure the team title. Lavoie was 2-over par 74 in the final round but finished fifth at 3-under par 213 for a career-best 54-hole total. Beaulieu capped off the event with a 1-over par 73 to total 2-under par 214 and a seventh-place finish, her best 54-hole total since the 2022-23 season. Olivia Coit and Madison Tenore both totaled 1-over par 73 in the final round to help A-State hold of Tarleton State. Coit (+5) finished up tied for 17th while Tenore (+8) was 25th.

A-State had four individuals in the field with Charlotte Menager being top finisher among the group. She finished tied for 10th at even-par 216 following a final round 4-over par 76. Sofia Bastidas (+4) tied for 14th while Caroline Hughes (+7) finished tied for 22nd in her collegiate debut. Shannon Berry (+13) finished 31st.

The Red Wolves posted their third consecutive par or better round at 1-under par 287 to wrap up the event at 13-under par 851, one stroke shy of the program best 54-hole total. Tarleton State shot 6-under par 282 in the final round to trim A-State's lead, but the Red Wolves held on for the win. UT Arlington (+7), Little Rock (+8), Texas A&M-Commerce (+20), Incarnate Word (+35), Lamar (+59) and Prairie View A&M (+104) rounded out the eight-team field.

A-State returns to action next week, Sept. 23-25, in Vail, Colo., at the Red Sky Classic hosted by Golfweek.
