JONESBORO, Ark. (9/26/24) – Arkansas State volleyball announced Thursday a star-studded 18-player All-50 Year Team, commemorating the 50
th year of women's sports at Arkansas State University.
The list includes seven Hall of Honor inductees, all three of the program's All-American honorees and nine individuals earning multiple first-team all-conference honors. To qualify, a player must have graduated from A-State and/or exhausted their eligibility with the program.
A-State began women's sports, including volleyball, in the 1974-75 season, with Kay Woodiel leading three programs: volleyball, women's basketball and women's tennis.
The Red Wolves continue their 50
th season on Friday and Saturday, hosting Georgia State to open Sun Belt Conference play. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday inside First National Bank Arena, with both matches broadcasted live on ESPN Plus.
