JONESBORO, Ark. (9/27/24) – After a strong start to the fall campaign, the Arkansas State women's tennis team is set for its second tournament of the year, remaining in-state in Conway at the UCA Invitational.
Play runs Saturday and Sunday at the Conway Tennis Center, starting at 9:30 a.m. each day. A-State is one of six squads represented, including Austin Peay, host Central Arkansas, Oral Roberts, Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana.
"This week, we just want to build on so many positives from our last tournament," A-State head coach Sujay Lama said. "From our video sessions we were able to identify a lot of areas we need to sharpen – mainly recognizing opportunities to be offensive and taking charge of the points early on."
Saturday features one round of doubles and two rounds of singles, while Sunday includes two rounds of doubles and one singles round.
Last weekend, the Red Wolves got off to a strong start to the 2024-25 season, racking up eight singles wins and four doubles victories at the Belmont/Lipscomb Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.
