NEW CASTLE, Del. (1/17/25) – The fifth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team opened the spring portion of the schedule Friday at the Northeast Classic with a perfect 5-0 head-to-head record and stands fifth among 38 teams after five Baker matches.
A-State (43-14) eclipsed 1,000 pins in all five Baker matches, with a high of 1,088 in the third match of the day. The Red Wolves totaled 14 of 25 games of 200-plus, including a high of 278 in game four of the match against Adelphi. A-State enters day two with 5,173 total pinfall to rank fifth behind Nebraska (5,443), Sam Houston (5,292), Youngstown State (5,288) and Vanderbilt (5,292).
The Red wolves opened with a 1,022-804 pinfall against Adelphi and followed with a 1,008-940 margin against No. 15 Tulane. A-State topped No. 23 Felician 1,088-925 and moved to 4-0 with a 1,004-899 tally against Valparaiso. The Red Wolves closed out the day with a narrow 1,051-1,035 triumph against No. 17 Mount St. Mary's.
