A-State Cross Country Teams, Pyeatt Honored for Academics

JONESBORO, Ark. (1/30/25) – Arkansas State's cross country squads received recognition from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for outstanding academics, with Jacob Pyeatt earning individual honors.

In order to qualify, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, while student-athletes must hold a GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at their respective regional championship meets.

Pyeatt, a three-time USTFCCCA All-Region performer, was named an All-Academic Athlete. The Mountain Home, Ark., native boasts a 3.80 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and is pursuing his master's of business administration.

A-State's women's team touted a 3.72 GPA, while the men's squad compiled a 3.65 mark as a group.
