MONROE, La. (10/11/25) – Arkansas State volleyball (11-6, 4-2 SBC) did not surrender a set over the weekend, defeating ULM (9-11, 0-6 SBC) in a 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-14) decision on Saturday afternoon inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Kaitlin Whitlock tallied a team-high 15 kills on a .636 percentage while
Devyn Lewis (11) also recorded double-digit kills. As a team, A-State posted 54 kills on a .469 hitting percentage and recorded eight service aces.
Defensively, the Red Wolves notched 39 digs and six blocks while limiting the opposition to 19 kills on a .085 percentage.
A-State opened with an offensive surge for the second consecutive match, claiming a 10-3 advantage following a service ace from Lewis. The Warhawks claimed five of the next eight rallies before a 10-0 run highlighted by four kills from Whitlock plus two service aces from
Erin Madigan put the set out of reach.
With a 24-11 advantage,
Addison Collum recorded her fifth kill of the first set to advance the match.
The Red Wolves maintained momentum as three kills and a block made the score 4-0 in the next set. A-State claimed 17 of the next 25 rallies, highlighted by two 3-0 runs while a 5-0 widened the gap to 13 points.
ULM responded to a kill from Payton Van Veen with a 3-0 run of their own, but four of the final five rallies fell in the Scarlet and Black's favor to end the set.
The opposition cut the lead to 10-9 in the third set, but a kill from
Haley Glunz shifted momentum as the advantage grew to 20-14. A-State ended the match by winning five consecutive rallies on kills, including three consecutive from Glunz.
