JONESBORO, Ark. (10/18/25) – Arkansas State (13-6, 6-2 SBC) set the tone early and never looked back in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-17) victory over Texas State (8-11, 3-5 SBC) on Saturday afternoon inside First National Bank Arena.
Addison Collum posted a team-high eight kills and

A-State recorded 42 digs and 15 blocks to limit the opposition to a .018 hitting percentage in the contest.
The Scarlet and Black jumped out to an early 3-0 advantage in the opening set, but surrendered five of the next six rallies before both sides alternated points. Two blocks followed by back-to-back kills from
Kaitlin Whitlock erased a 15-13 deficit while a kill from
Erin Madigan paired by an attack error by the Bobcats capped the 6-0 scoring run.
The lead would be maintained beyond that point, as back-to-back attack errors by the opposition secured a 25-19 decision.
Two kills from Whitlock plus a solo block for Glunz and an attack error established an 8-4 advantage in the second set, but Texas State claimed two rallies to chip away at the lead. The Red Wolves stonewalled the effort with a 7-0 run highlighted by two kills, two attack errors and three blocks resulting in a 15-6 lead.
Momentum remained in A-State's favor until a 4-0 run closed the gap to 21-16, but Payton Van Veen ended the comeback effort with her 1,000th career kill. Van Veen and
Daedrianna Cail recorded block assists to claim set point in a 25-17 victory.
Trailing by two after the first 10 rallies, an attack error paired with kills from Whitlock and Madigan sparked a 12-3 run that opened a seven-point advantage. The Bobcats battled back by winning five consecutive rallies to make the score 17-15, but a kill from
Devyn Lewis ended the streak and a 6-0 run set up match point.
A-State surrendered a rally to make the score 24-17, but Cail landed the final kill of the match as the Red Wolves completed the weekend sweep.
