A-State Cross Country Resumes Action at Louisville Cross Country Classic

JONESBORO, Ark. (10/2/25) – Arkansas State Cross Country is set to compete for the third time this season, participating in the 24th Annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 4, at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
 
The Red Wolves will participate in the Men's Gold 8K at 9 a.m. and the Women's Gold 5K at 9:45 a.m. The men's squad is seeded 13th while the women's team is seeded at 28th.

THREE THINGS TO NOTE:
 
1.     BUSINESS HANDLED: A-State Cross Country swept the men's and women's titles at the Rhodes College Cross Country Invitational for the fourth consecutive season on Sept. 20 at Shelby Farms Park. The men's team finished 23 points ahead of second place with a total of 39 in the 8K and the women held the top spot by a 34-point margin after posting a total of 40 in the 5K. Carlo Martinez-Jaramillo led the A-State men in the 8K with a time of 25:16.20 while Devyn O'Daniel led the Red Wolves women in the 5K with a personal best of 18:30.30 and a fourth-place finish.
 
2.     LAST TIME IN LOUISVILLE: Jacob Pyeatt earned a runner up finish in the men's 8K while the Red Wolves' men's team finished 10th and the women's team finished 11th at the 23rd annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic. Maja Dzialoszewska finished 25th in the women's 5K with a time of 17:32.7.
 
3.     THE PATH AHEAD: The Louisville Cross Country Classic is the penultimate meet before the Sun Belt Conference Championships begin on Oct. 31. A-State is set to participate at the Arturo Barrios Invite on Oct. 17 in College Station, Texas, before heading to Foley, Ala., two weeks later.
