MOBILE, Ala. (10/5/25) – Arkansas State (2-5-4) battled late on the road against South Alabama (8-3-1) in the 2-0 final Sunday at The Cage.
South Alabama went up with a shot that crossed to the other side of the net. The Jaguars threatened with two more dangerous shots in the box but senior keeper
Damaris Deschaine held steady punching the ball out of harm's way both times. A few crosses into the USA box landed just out of position to tie it heading into half.
Â
The Red Wolves opened up the second half with a stellar set of shots from
Keelyn Peacock that rang off the crossbar both times. A heavy downpour began at the 70 minute mark, with both sides slogging through the rain for advantage. USA snuck into the box to push past a second goal with just 12 minutes left, and Arkansas State pressed for the final minutes, looking to answer.
Â
Deschaine finished with six saves, with
Lu Flores,
Kennedy Horn, and
Gertie Langford joining Peacock with a shot attempt each.
