Lara Margocova Signs with A-State Women’s Tennis

JONESBORO, Ark. (11/13/25) – Lara Margocova, a top five juniors' talent from Slovakia, has signed with Arkansas State women's tennis, head coach Sujay Lama announced Thursday.

"We are pleased to welcome Lara to the Red Wolf Tennis family," said Lama. "She brings exceptional talent and athleticism, combined with an impressive work ethic and strong academic focus. Her character and drive align perfectly with our program's values, and we are confident she will contribute greatly to our continued growth."

Ranked as the No. 4 player in the U19 Slovakian rankings, Margocova is a four-time regional champion with two titles in U18 and two in the women's division. This past summer, she placed third in doubles and reached the quarterfinals in singles at the Slovak summer national women's championships. Internationally, Marcova won the ITF J30 in singles contested in Humenne, Slovakia while taking runner-up in ITF J60 in Zillina and ITF J30 in Trnava, Slovakia.

"Arkansas State offers incredible potential for growth, both on and off the court," said Margocova. "The training conditions are on another level from what I've had before, and with the supportive environment, amazing people, and strong competition, I'm confident I'll keep improving. What stood out most to me was the team's energy and genuine, family-like atmosphere. I'm ready to give my best, looking forward to building great memories and proudly representing A-State on the court!"

Margocova is expected to join the squad ahead of the fall portion of the 2026-27 season.
