11/14/2025 8:28:00 PM

Box Score JONESBORO, Ark. (11/14/25) – Arkansas State volleyball (18-8, 11-4 SBC) established an early lead and did not look back in the first of two matches versus Old Dominion (5-21, 2-13 SBC), rolling to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-7) victory on Friday night inside First National Bank Arena.

Kaitlin Whitlock led the effort with a team-high 14 kills alongside a service ace on a .500 percentage and recorded five digs plus four blocks. She became the second Red Wolf to surpass 1,000 career kills this season, recording all of them in the Scarlet and Black.

Daedrianna Cail accounted for nearly half of the Red Wolves' blocks in the contest with eight, including three solo. As a team, A-State recorded 40 kills on a .443 percent clip and tallied 16 blocks, the most by a Sun Belt team in a three-set match this season.

Erin Madigan recorded a solo block plus a service ace to bookend a 5-1 run at the start of the match. The Monarchs battled back and made the score 10-7 before the Red Wolves notched seven consecutive kills over the next eight rallies to open an eight-point advantage.

The opposition would be unable to cut the deficit lower than seven points before a 4-0 run capped by a kill from Kaitlin Whitlock ended the first set.

A-State trailed by two points before a 7-0 run featuring solo blocks for Cail and Devyn Lewis established a 9-4 advantage. Both sides alternated the next five rallies before a 4-0 run for the Scarlet and Black increased the lead to eight points.

The lead increased to nine when Cail landed a kill to make the score 21-12, but the Monarchs claimed three points over the next five rallies. A kill from Whitlock paired with block assists by Cail and Payton Van Veen closed the door on a rally and put the Red Wolves ahead 2-0.

A-State saved the best set for last, jumping out to a 13-2 lead after recording five blocks, four kills, and two service aces. After surrendering a rally, an attack error followed by two more blocks and another service ace extended the lead to 14.

Eight of the final 12 rallies fell in the Scarlet and Black's favor as the Red Wolves picked up their second sweep in as many matches.
