A-State Falls on the Road Against Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. (11/19/25) – Arkansas State women's basketball (2-3, 0-0 SBC) was outscored in the first quarter by 14 and could not recover in a 81-58 setback at Central Arkansas (2-2, 0-0 ASUN) Wednesday night inside the Farris Center.
Zyion Shannon led the Red Wolves in scoring for the third straight game, with 20 points on 33 percent shooting (6-for-18), going 4-for-12 from deep (33 percent). It marked the second 20 point performance of the season for Shannon over the last three games with a season-high 22 coming at Missouri. Mimi McCollister added 12 points on 50 percent shooting (4-for-8), and made all three of her shots from the charity stripe. Shae Littlefoot led the Sugar Bears with 23 points making seven of her eight shots (87 percent), all three beyond the arc.
A-State shot 32 percent (21-for-65) on the night, with seven three-pointers from 37 shots (19 percent). Central Arkansas finished at 51 percent shooting (27-for-53) and made 43 percent of their threes (10-of-23). The Red Wolves were outrebounded 41-31 but led in steals 17-10 forcing UCA into 22 turnovers, the fifth consecutive game with 20-plus turnovers forced. 
UCA opened the game on a 19-3 run hitting each of its first six shots. Shannon was the only Red Wolf to score twice in the first, as Central Arkansas exited the first 10 minutes ahead, 25-11.
A-State cut into the lead before halftime with two Shannon triples and a Wynter Rogers three-point play, but the Red Wolves faced a 40-29 deficit at the break. 
The Red Wolves outscored UCA 15-14 in the third quarter, but the Sugar Bears opened the last 10 minutes with back-to-back-to-back three-pointers, making a 19-point difference. A- State was outscored 27-14 in the final quarter setting the final of 81-58.
