STEPHENVILLE, Texas (11/7/25) – Arkansas State women's basketball (1-1, 0-0 SBC) trailed throughout regulation at Tarleton State (1-1, 0-0 WAC), but a late three-pointer sent the game to overtime in what would become an 87-77 victory on Friday morning inside the EECU Center.
 
Crislyn Rose finished with a team-high 26 points on 10-for-20 (50 percent) shooting from the floor and a 4-for-5 (80 percent) clip from beyond the arc. The Sachse, Texas, native notched her fifth career game with 20-plus points and her second of the 2025-26 campaign. She is just the seventh player to record back-to-back 20-point games as a redwolf since 2017.
 
Zyion Shannon (14) and Marlie Dickerson (10) also surpassed double digits in points, with the former also contributing eight rebounds while the latter finished with nine on the glass.
 
A-State shot 41.1 percent (30-of-73) from the floor, nailing 10-of-28 (35.7 percent) beyond the arc. Tarleton State shot 40.7 percent (22-of-54) on the night, 5-of-18 (27.8 percent) from 3-point range. 
The Texans totaled 29 turnovers, 13 more than the Red Wolves' 16. A-State recorded a 21-9 advantage in points off turnovers. A-State finished with 39 rebounds in the contest, and outrebounded the opposition 11-7 on the offensive glass. 
 
Tarleton State took an early 10-4 lead, but an 8-0 run highlighted by back-to-back steals gave the Scarlet and Black a one-point advantage. Both sides alternated one-score leads through the first quarter, tying at 21-21 as the clock hit 0:00.
 
The back-and-forth scoring carried on until a 7-0 scoring run pushed the Texans ahead 36-30 with 2:37 remaining in the half. The Red Wolves countered from beyond the arc with a pair of threes from Rose and Allen, leaving A-State trailing by three at halftime, 37-40.
 
The Texans maintained the lead throughout the third quarter, but the Red Wolves' cut the deficit to one point before a jumper and a pair of free throws erased the effort. The third quarter deficit peaked at nine, but a three-pointer from Bella Weary and a free throw from Dickerson cut TSU's advantage to 55-50 heading into the fourth quarter.
 
A 6-0 run capped by free throws from Wynter Rogers tied the contest at 61-61, but the Texans responded with a run of their own to make the score 66-61. The five-point lead was maintained into the final minute, with a driving layup by Rose and a pair of missed free throws leading to the Red Wolves storming down the court. Dickerson passed the ball to Mia Tarver in the corner, and she buried a triple to tie the contest at 70-70 with just 12.7 seconds left.

The Red Wolves surged in overtime, as Shannon stole the ball on Tarleton State's first possession and converted the ensuing layup. The teams traded free throws before three consecutive layups from Rose, Shannon, and Dickerson opened an 80-73 lead.

A-State didn't give up the lead beyond that point as the program secured its first win in a road opener since the 2020 campaign.
