JONESBORO, Ark. (12/4/25) – The Arkansas State football team had nine players selected to 10 spots on the 2025 All-Sun Belt Conference Teams, announced Thursday by the league office.
The Red Wolves had two first-team selections, two players earn second-team recognition, two third-team picks and an additional four honorable mention choices. A-State had players represent all three phases of the game, including two on offense, seven on defense and a specialist.
Senior defensive end
Demarcus Hendricks and kickoff returner
Chauncy Cobb represented A-State on the first team. Senior wide receiver
Corey Rucker and junior defensive tackle
Cody Sigler were second team selections while Cobb, at the all-purpose position, and senior defensive end
Ethan Hassler were chosen third team. Senior cornerback
Avante Dickerson, senior safety
AG McGhee, senior defensive tackle
Simeon Mitchell and senior linebacker
Kyle Taylor were A-State's four honorable mention selections.
Hendricks is the first A-State defensive lineman to earn First Team All-Sun Belt recognition since William Bradley-King in 2019. The Red Wolves have three defensive linemen on the All-Sun Belt teams for the first time since 2018 and third time in A-State's Sun Belt Conference history. Ronheen Bingham (1st), Forrest Merrill (2nd) and William Bradley-King (2nd) did so in 2018 and Jon Bradley, Garry Johnson and Corey Williams were each first team honorees in 2002.
Hendricks wrapped up the regular season ranked third in the league with 6.5 sacks on the season, all coming in conference play. Per PFF, he ranked fourth among conference edge rushers with 27 stops (failure for offensive player). He totaled 50 tackles, including 11.5 TFLs, on the season. He accumulated 39 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, against league foes.
Cobb led the conference and ranked fifth nationally with 28.1 yards per kick returns. He was the only Sun Belt Conference player with multiple kickoffs returned for touchdowns and one of four players nationally. He joins Alan Lamar (2021) and James Hickenbotham (2001, 2002) as A-State's only players to receive First Team All-Sun Belt honors as a return specialist.
Rucker picks up All-Sun Belt recognition for the third time in his career, repeating as a second team selection after earning the honor in both 2021 and 2024. He led the conference with four 100-plus yard receiving games, all against league opponents, and 7.63 receptions per game in conference play. He totaled 69 catches for 866 yards and three scores and his 72.17 yards per game ranked fifth among conference leaders.
Sigler was the top-ranked defensive tackle in the league per PFF rankings and finished the regular season ranked seventh in the Group of Six and 13th nationally. Among defensive tackles, he led league with 25 total pressures (sacks, hits, hurries) and ranked second nationally with five passes deflected at the line of scrimmage. He totaled 29 tackles, including 4.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks.
Hassler ranked fourth in the league with 5.0 sacks in conference games and earned a third team selection. Per PFF, totaled, he totaled 29 pressures this season to rank seventh in the league. He totaled 53 tackles, including 10.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks for the season with 41 tackles, including 8.0 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks, coming in conference play.
Cobb ranked third among league players with 108.42 all-purpose yards per game and was a third team choice at the all-purpose position. In addition to his kick return accolades, he tied for the team lead with 69 receptions for 767 yards. He hauled in three or more catches in 11 of 12 games and had two games of 100-plus receiving yards, both against league foes.
Arkansas State – one of 17 Group of Six teams to be bowl eligible for a third consecutive season – now waits to find out its postseason assignment. The 2025 bowl matchups will be revealed by Sunday, Dec. 7, following conference championship games.
