JONESBORO, Ark. (2/14/25) – Opening play at the annual Mid-Winter Invitational, the fourth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team is eighth among 15 teams in the field.
A-State (57-26) was 1-4 in head-to-head Baker 5-game total pinfall on the day. The Red Wolves opened with a 1,133-1,010 margin over No. 9 Stephen F. Austin but dropped their next four matches. No. 14 Wisconsin-Whitewater topped A-State 1,017-954 and No. 5 Youngstown State held a 40-pin advantage of 1,073-1,043. No. 3 Jacksonville State dealt the Red Wolves a 1,067-969 setback and A-State closed the day with a narrow 938-928 loss to No. 7 Wichita State.
The Red Wolves totaled 5,027 pins, an average of 201.1, on the day and are eighth 115 pins shy of fifth in the standings. The top 10 teams are separated by 365 pins with Jacksonville State leading with 5,349. Vanderbilt (5,283), Youngstown State (5,260), Nebraska (5,234), Wisconsin-Whitewater (5,142), UAB (5,118) and Stephen F. Austin (5,027) comprise the top seven while Wichita State (4,990) and Maryville (4,984) complete the top 10.
