Red Wolves Split Matches on First Day of Great River Cup

GULFPORT, Miss. (2/17/25) – The Arkansas State women's golf team defeated Little Rock 4-1, but fell to host ULM 4-1 in the championship bracket semifinals at the Great River Cup at Windance Country Club.

A-State (53-37-1) opened the day against Little Rock and cruised to a 4-1 decision. Back-to-back birdies on No. 9 and No. 10 helped Olivia Coit to a 5&3 decision in match one against the Trojans.  Ashley Kim closed out a 2&1 win in match two while the Trojans got on the board with a 3&2 decision in match three. A birdie on No. 13 clinched a 4&2 victory for Anne-Lea Lavoie while Madison Tenore won 5&4 in match five. Morgan Beaulieu was 2UP when the match was finished.

In the semifinal against ULM, Tenore was the lone winner for the Red Wolves. Tenore earned a 3&2 decision in match five. Coit came up short 5&3 in match three and the Warhawks game away with 1UP decisions against Kim and Caroline Hughes to clinch the match.

A-State meets Southern Miss in the third place match up Tuesday. Live scoring is available on Scoreboard.
