SMYRNA, Tenn. (3/16/25) – The sixth-ranked Arkansas State women's bowling team finished eighth of 31 teams at the Music City Classic that concluded Sunday.

A-State (77-37) faced No. 4 Youngstown State in the sixth and final traditional match of the tournament to begin competition Sunday. The Red Wolves fell by a total of 921-897, but Karli VanDuinen added 202 pins to her total from Saturday to place 11th individually with a six-game total of 1,246 pins and earn All-Tournament Team honors. Saralyne Nassberg finished with a total of 1,155 pins to rank 39th and Amanda Lang totaled 1,154 to rank 40th.

The Red Wolves met No. 8 North Carolina A&T in their first match of the quad-bracket. A-State fell behind 2-0 before taking game three of the Baker best-of-seven 211-205, but the Aggies closed out a 4-1 victory. Meeting No. 5 Wichita State in its final match of the tournament, A-State was swept 4-0. Three of the four games were decided by 11 or fewer pins, including game one 185-181 and game three 185-184.

The Conference USA Championship begins Thursday at Colonial Bowling Lanes at Harahan, La. Conference USA holds seven of the top 10 spots in the latest NTCA Poll. The play-in matches and full double-elimination bracket will be announced following the RPI update early next week. All Conference USA Championship matches will air on ESPN+ March 19-23.
