JONESBORO, Ark. (3/18/25) – Arkansas State baseball pitcher
Jack Hibbard earned Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors following a nine-strikeout performance in his second complete game of the season on Sunday, March 18.
The Red Wolves defeated Marshall 9-1 to clinch the program's first series victory to open conference play since 2019. Hibbard joins four other pitchers as the national leader in complete games thrown with two on the season.
Will Nash was the last Red Wolf to be named SBC Pitcher of the Week, earning the honors on March 11, 2021. Hibbard is the sixth A-State pitcher to receive the weekly award since 2015.
Over 30.0 innings and five starts in 2025, the right-hander holds a 3.90 ERA with 23 strikeouts, posting a .87 WHIP and holding opposing batters to a .211 clip. The freshman leads the team with three wins, posting the first complete shutout by a Red Wolf since 2014 on Feb. 24 against Eastern Illinois.
